I'm in the middle of a health situation so serious it makes you look dismally on your past, regretting every opportunity you took for granted, every fight you ever had or any moment you did not appreciate to the absolute best of your ability. You completely re-evaluate your life, everything you once did (or didn't do), and everything you may do in the future, despite how long that future may last.

As someone who has nearly always been in good health, I never thought I would end up being a prime example of a broken health care system.

My mind is completely occupied with this, but shortly before these things came to light, my brother accompanied me back to Chicago to visit for a week. The weather was the most disgusting and muggy heat I've ever dealt with, and being on the top floor of a vintage building without air conditioning helped so much. Although we didn't do much, it was nice to have my chess partner back, even if he does lose.

Some other photos from my excursion:

Goddamn, that parking lot picture with the light would make an amazing album cover. I'm glad you like Dillinger Four so I could find your profile and your pictures.

love,
